Masuria is a very forested area with a lot of forests and wildlife, so be careful, especially at night.
Planning a trip in the forest, remember to charge your phone.
In autumn we often come to Warmia and Masuria for mushroom picking. If we get lost in the forest and find stone posts with marked numbers, the so-called boundary markers, we can call the appropriate services to find us.
On the water
When you sail, always take only the necessary equipment with you, which will be useful during the cruise.
Check the current weather before you set sail. In the summer, there is an active warning system on Masurian lakes – more information at
Emergency telephone at the waterside – 601 100 100
No alcohol is allowed during the cruise.
Each boat should have life jackets and a first aid kit for the entire crew.
The helmsman on a boat must be a certified yacht helmsman, and in the case of a motorboat, a patent for a motorboat helmsman.
It is always worth having the most important emergency phone numbers on hand. That’s why it’s a good idea to save them on your phone or to access them online.
Dialing the emergency number connects you to the nearest emergency service. In order to call another local branch of the selected service, calling from a mobile phone, you should dial the appropriate area code before the emergency number (e.g. in the case of the Elbląg police, the full number dialled will be as follows: 55 997). Public telephones do not charge for emergency calls: 112, 997, 998, 999. The general emergency number 112 can be called from all types of phones without specifying the area code. The call will be forwarded by the operator to the relevant emergency service. In case of an urgent need, it is best to dial the direct number of the service.
